The Myton Hospices Terms and Condition
Standard Terms and Conditions
These rules apply to all of our Myton organised events unless otherwise stated. All participants must abide by these rules and any instructions given by event staff or marshals on the day.
All participants must write the name and number of a person to contact in case of an emergency. In the case of an emergency, Myton Hospice may use the emergency contact details you provided to us when you registered for the event.
Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in an event should take medical advice from a General Practitioner prior to the event. This event is not a race and all participants enter entirely at their own risk, Myton Hospice shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss suffered by participants as a result of the participation other than in respect of death or personal injury arising as a result of Myton Hospices negligence.
Myton Hospice takes reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to all participants during our own organised events. A risk assessment process is in place for each event. By taking part in an event, you acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond our control that can lead to unforeseen risks. If you have any concerns or queries please contact us before agreeing to take part in an event.
Calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.
Children aged 16yrs and under
If a child is aged 16 years or under, they cannot enter individually, they must be entered as an additional participant where the primary participant is over 18 and is the legal parent or guardian. The legal parent or guardian takes full responsibility of the child at the event.
Participants over the age of 18 do not need to provide parent or legal guardian details.
Children under the age of 6 do not have to register and can take part free of charge. Myton Hospice is unable to provide medals to any child under 3 years old and parents are advised not to allow children under the age of 3 years old to play with these medals.
All of our events are non-competitive walks, jogs or runs and we strongly recommend that participants do not race. Children under the age of 16 years can take part in our events but must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times and are advised to walk.
All event registrations are non-refundable.
Money raised from taking part in any event should be passed to Myton Hospice as soon as possible after the event and by no later than the date provided on the individual sponsorship form. You can pay in your sponsorship by calling – 01926 838824 or via the donation section on our website – www.mytonhospice.org
Cheque’s should be made payable to ‘Myton Hospice’ and sent to Events Department, Myton Hospice, Myton Lane, Warwick, CV34 6PX.
We aim to make all of our events as accessible to everyone however there may be some events where wheelchairs and pushchairs are not suitable. Please call 01926 838815 to check before registering.
Participants' supporters and family members spectating at any Myton Hospice event do so entirely at their own risk. Myton Hospice shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss suffered by spectators at a Myton Hospice organised event other than in respect of death or personal injury arising out of Myton Hospices’ negligence.
Participant’s dogs are allowed to take part in our events and we ask that you be a responsible dog owner. Please follow these guidelines –
Keep your dog on a lead and under close control at all times
Any usual equipment (muzzle / harness etc.) used to control your dog is employed on the day.
You bring adequate water supplies for your dog to keep them hydrated.
- If your dog fouls, please "scoop the poop".
- Abide by the instructions given by the Event Manager and officials on the day to include starting the event at the back of the walkers if required
Warwick Castle, the venue for our Moonlight Walk does not allow dogs on site.
First aid is provided at all of our events. Participants consent to their details (which will be obtained by medical providers if participants are treated by them at an event) being passed to Myton Hospice. Myton Hospice will only use these details for administration and health and safety purposes and to fulfil its legal obligations, including those under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995.
During our events we may take general photographs and film which may be used for social media, on our website, in the media and to promote future events. We will ask your permission before taking individual and group photographs of participants but you may sometimes appear in general photographs of crowds and the event setting.
Data Protection Statement
The Myton Hospices value your support and promises to respect your privacy. The data we gather and hold is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998). We will not disclose or share personal information supplied by you, with any third party organisations without your consent.
