The Myton Hospices are appealing for information on a recent burglary

Between 9pm on Tuesday 15th November and 8am on Wednesday 16th November, our shop on Brook Street in Warwick was sadly burgled.

Thieves broke into the store and stole just under £400 in cash, as well as damaging various items of stock and equipment.

Gary Bradbury, Retail Operations Manager at The Myton Hospices, said, ‘Our shops provide an invaluable source of income for the charity, helping us raise the vital funds we need to continue caring for patients and their loved ones across Coventry and Warwickshire.’

Gary added, ‘Due to this incident, the shop was unable to open until 10.30am on the Wednesday and has caused a lot of distress for staff and volunteers. We will continue to support the police in their investigation and will be taking measures to ensure a similar situation does not occur again in the future.’

In the last 12 months, The Myton Hospices have worked with and supported over 2,300 patients and their families across Coventry and Warwickshire.  This is in their hospices, via their patient and family support services and in the community through Myton at Home.

Myton provides all services free of charge and therefore needs to raise over £9.2 million a year in voluntary income to run these services.

The local charity is appealing for witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation and encourage anyone with any information to contact Warwickshire Police.
