Myton nurses set to light up the streets of Warwick

After dark on Saturday 10th September, over 1,000 people are expected to gather at Warwick Castle to take part in our Glow in the Moonlight event. Participants will run, jog, walk or even dance a 5km route around Warwick to raise money for Myton. A team of Myton nurses are amongst those who have already signed up to take part in this year's event.

Sara Houghton, Senior Nurse at Myton and one of the nurses taking part in this year’s event, said, ‘I am really looking forward to Glow in the Moonlight, especially the build-up on the night at the castle before the event starts. I have had family and close friends at Myton myself and I want to be able to help fund the services we provide in the local community.’

We are hoping to raise £55,000 from this year’s sponsored event which would be enough to fund all the counselling services available at Myton for 6 months including the children’s counselling service, Rainbow Ripples.

Karen Wheeler, Nursing Assistant at Myton who is also taking part in this year’s Glow in the Moonlight, adds, 'I have been at Myton for a year so I haven’t had the opportunity yet to take part in any of the fundraising events. I am looking forward to taking part in an event to be able to give back to Myton outside of the work.’

Will you walk alongside our nurses this September?

The registration fee for this year’s event is £20 for adults, £10 for children and £40 for a family (2 adults and 2 children) and includes a Glow Pack complete with an exclusive bespoke glow t-shirt and luminous UV face paint to wear on the night. Upon completing the event, participants will also receive a unique medal as recognition of their achievements.
