Rugby Day Hospice

Introduction

Rugby Day HospiceRugby Myton Day hospice is a nurse led unit that has the facilities to call on the expertise of our Specialist Palliative Care doctors based at Myton Hospice Warwick at any time. We aim to provide high quality palliative care in a safe and homely environment, and to give respite to carers. Our aim is to support patients with progressive life limiting illness, in a social and therapeutic setting. There are no charges for the clinical services we provide to you.

Day Hospice is open Monday to Friday. There is capacity for up to 15 patients a day. While attending Day Hospice you will remain under the care of your GP however, any problems relating to your illness can be discussed with the Day Hospice team who maintain regular contact with your GP.

Lunch and light snacks are provided free of charge. Please let us know of any specific need, likes and dislikes so that we can cater for these.

You will have an initial assessment by a nurse and an opportunity to discuss your individual palliative care needs. If Day Hospice is considered appropriate you will be offered a place for one day per week. Your care will be reviewed on a regular basis and when appropriate, discharge will be discussed with you. If alternative support/care is required we will endeavour to arrange this for you.

Please bring any medication you need for the day. If you need assistance taking your medication please bring it in a clearly labelled bottle.
