Organising events

You can also look to stage your own events and here are just a few ideas to start you thinking and getting creative!

Quiz Night – Could stage a specialist quiz such as pop or trivia or go with a general knowledge one. As part of the night include a raffle or “true or false” game to bring in extra fundraising. We can provide a quiz if you don’t already have one written.

• Hold a charity gig with a local band or a disco at your local village hall or pub and charge an entrance fee and include a raffle as part of the evening’s entertainment

   

• Darts / Snooker competition – participants pay to enter and have a prize for the winner. Could open this up to an individual event or by department within your company. Maybe purchase a cup and make it a regular challenge. Brings out the competitive streak in everyone and a great way of team bonding

   

• BBQ or Party – As formal or informal as you want. Why not have a theme such as a Caribbean Beach Party and have a tropical twist on the food and drink being served and entertainment and decorations too! Encourage fancy dress to be worn with a prize for the best dressed!  

   

• Mini tournament against local competitors or villages! – organise a competition such as a football, rounders or cricket match and have a collection during the game.

   

Hold a car-boot / garage sale – Will be a great opportunity to get rid of some unwanted items at the same time as raise money for a great cause!

• Hold a sponsored head shave.

   

• Take part in a challenge event such as sky-diving, trek or bike ride (see challenge events section for more details)
