In memory of Brian Flaig

Brian was diagnosed with cancer in April 2015 following a stroke in March 2015.

Brian died on 30 April 2015 at Myton Hospice in Warwick.

Brian was a devoted husband to Maggie and Dad to Caroline and Joanne. Brian was a brilliant Grandad to Ethan, Ella, Aidan, Sophia and Isabella. Brian was a kind generous brother to Margaret, Peter, Susan and Barbara and a loyal friend and colleague to many.

Whilst Brian only spent one day at Myton it was immediately apparent what a special place Myton is. We discovered a hospice is not a place to be in fear of, Myton Warwick is a welcoming environment, which gives care, privacy and dignity in beautiful surroundings.

Myton gave Brian and our family peace and support during the most difficult of times. We will not forget the kindness of Dr Ros Henderson, her nurses (including Sal, Jas and Gill) and the invaluable Myton volunteers.

Whilst we appreciate the care Brian had in hospital Myton provided end of life expertise and tranquility that a busy hospital could not provide in the same way. We are also very grateful to the staff at UCHW and in particular Sean from Macmillan who helped to arrange the care at Myton. Myton is a charity, it provides it services free of charge and requires donations to enable it to continue to provide its services. Myton estimate the cost of a bed for the day is £565 and aims to fundraise £8 million pounds annually.

Instead of flowers you may wish to donate to Myton in Brian’s memory so others can benefit from Myton’s care. Please claim gift aid (if applicable) so Myton can make the most of your donation.

We miss you greatly.

Many thanks

Maggie, Caroline, Joanne and family
