    Our volunteer drivers provide a vital lifeline to help people access life changing services. Volunteers drive patients from their home to Day Hospice and vice versa, and sometimes to other support clinics on site. This is so much more than a car journey – it gives patients the chance to get out of their houses, see their neighbourhood, see season changes and feel in touch with their local community. Patient transport is undoubtedly a form of unacknowledged therapy.

    As a Creative Arts Volunteer you will have the opportunity to work with patients who come into Day Hospice helping them to express their thoughts and feelings through art and creativity. You will be working together with patients and occasionally their families in bringing together life long memories, for example, creating things such as memory journals, and ‘a hand to hold’ hand casts.
