  • This programme, consisting of six half-day workshops, is designed to be delivered to groups of staff working in the social care sector. It is underpinned by Health Education England’s document: End of Life Care Core Skills Education and Training Framework (2017).

We will arrange to deliver the course to groups of staff on your own premises.

    Programme aim and objectives:

The aim of the programme is to equip the learners with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide effective, safe and compassionate care to individuals approaching the end of their lives, and those important to them, whatever the setting.

By the end of the programme, the learners will:

    • Know how to ensure care is person-centred

    • Have the confidence to hold sensitive discussions as the end of life approaches

    • Be able to help individuals to plan ahead for their care

    • Be able to recognise symptoms, take measures to address them, and know when to seek help

    • Have the confidence to deliver holistic care in the last days of life

    • Know how to care for the deceased person and those who are bereaved
