To celebrate the tenth year of The Myton Hospices’ Glow in the Moonlight we are going to bring the party spirit to Warwick! And we will be celebrating at a brand new venue – Warwick Racecourse! On Saturday 15th September hundreds of Myton supporters will pull on their pyjamas and join us for this year’s party special!
We’re offering you the chance to take on either a 5 mile or 8 mile route in your best pyjamas or onesie! Both routes will take you around Warwick and Leamington Spa before returning to the racecourse.
An outdoor stage will play host to a live music performance, there will be a Disco Dome where you can get in the party spirit and Matt Print will return to get everyone ready for their chosen route with a Zumba warm-up before setting off at 8pm!
Registration fee for the event is £20 for adults and £10 for children and includes glow sticks, flashing accessories and UV face and body paint. You will be able to collect this glow pack of goodies either at our pre check-in event or on the night.
Everyone who finishes the route will also be given a bespoke Glow in the Moonlight medal!
This year we want to raise £65,000 from this event which is enough to fund a children’s counsellor for over two years! This is a huge amount but with your help and support we know we can do it!
Your registration fee covers the cost of the event itself, but it is your sponsorship money which makes the difference to our patients and their families.
You will be sent a Welcome Pack in the post which contains everything you need to know about the event as well as some fundraising ideas!
For more information or if you have any problems signing up please call 01926 358 382 or email email@example.com

Help us raise £65,000 at this year’s Glow in the Moonlight. This would be enough to fund a children’s counsellor for just over two years!

This year we have to raise £9.6million of the £11.5 million we need to continue providing our services free of charge, we can’t do it without support from people like you.
The money our supporters raise means more people can benefit from Myton’s care, like the Wren family did.
After his mum died, Will Wren wanted everyone who walked through Myton’s doors to have the same support and care he and his family had experienced. He stepped out of his comfort zone to talk in front of all the teachers and pupils at his school, King Edward VI School in Stratford Upon Avon, about why they should choose Myton to be one of the two charities they would support as a school.
His mum, Emma, first came into contact with Myton after she was diagnosed with a secondary cancer. Friends and family rallied around to raise money for her to have immunotherapy in Germany.
During her second course of immunotherapy she became unwell and in a lot of pain. Emma’s husband Peter contacted Myton from Germany about the possibility of admitting Emma to one of the Inpatient Units for pain management.
He said: “We turned up to Warwick Myton Hospice at 11.30 at night and were greeted by a doctor and a nurse. We basically moved in on-mass – our three children, myself and the dog lived in her room. When a space at the relatives’ accommodation became available we used that too. Everyone we saw made life comfortable and easy; the most important thing was the incredible care they gave Emma.”
- We have a variety of exciting events throughout the year and we rely on our fantastic team of volunteers to ensure they run smoothly!
Volunteering at events is on an adhoc basis so it’s a really flexible way to support The Myton Hospices, all our events have a fantastic atmosphere and they are really fun to be part of.
Glow in the Moonlight is a sponsored 5 or 8 mile walk which starts and ends at Warwick Racecourse, we are expecting over 1000 participants to take part and this year is extra special as we will be celebrating our 10th birthday! Participants will be encouraged to wear their best pyjamas or onesie and they will all receive a glow pack full of glow goodies for taking part.
We will require volunteers for Glow in the Moonlight to help with the following:
- Bag drop
- Finish line and medals
All our volunteers are fully briefed prior to the event and will get a detailed information pack about the event and what their role will involves, along with health and safety information and a main point of contact. They will also get support at the event and a big thank you from our team!
We would absolutely love your support with this exciting local event, for more information please contact Verity: Verity.O'Donnell@mytonhospice.org
