Get in the festive spirit by taking part in Myton’s famous Santa Dash in Leamington Spa!
Nothing says ‘Christmas’ quite like pulling on a Santa suit and running, jogging or walking 5km for charity. So whether signing up gives you the perfect excuse to lace up your running shoes despite the cold weather, or if you want to get the family together for some festive fundraising, this is the event for you!
Taking place on Sunday 8th December you will take on a 5km run, jog or walk around Victoria Park in Leamington Spa.
We are hoping to raise £38,000 from your Santa Dash sponsorship this year so we can continue providing our services to people with terminal and life limiting illnesses, and their families, over the festive period. Join hundreds of other Santa’s and elves and do something amazing for your local charity this Christmas!
- Adults: (£15)
- Children: (£5)
We’re very conscious of making our events as environmentally friendly as possible. With this in mind we will be providing suits for participants who need them, but this year we are also encouraging you to reuse suits if you have taken part in our Santa Dash previously, or wear your own festive fancy dress!
We still have Santa suits available for those who would like one but would encourage you to only consider these as an option if you haven’t already got something suitable.
Should you need a costume; all adult Santa suits are one size fits all and include adjustable trousers, a jacket and even a beard, and the Youth and Junior Santa suits include a jacket, trousers and a hat.
New for 2019:
Santa’s Little Helpers
This year we’re hoping to have a team of fundraisers who will be our very special Santa’s Little Helpers! Pledge to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship and you will receive a hot drink and special seasonal gift when checking in. Adults and children welcome!
Best Dressed Dog
We’ve always encouraged well-behaved dogs to take part in our Santa Dash events, and this year we are putting your four-legged fundraisers in the spotlight with a festive fancy dress competition!
Whether they have a Christmas jumper, Santa suit or antlers to wear, dress your dog in something festive and enter them into our first ever Best Dressed Dog competition. There will even be a prize for the top dog!
As well as playing host to hundreds of Santas and elves, Victoria Park will be filled with festive music, refreshments and entertainment!
This event is the perfect way to kick start Christmas for the whole family!
Please contact the events team on email@example.com or 01926 838825 for more information or any assistance!
Check-in on the day is from 8.30am. Everyone will be setting off at 10am.
Check-in will be clearly signposted and located in Victoria Park, Leamington Spa. When you check-in please let us know how much sponsorship money you have raised so far; this will help us estimate how much the event has raised in total.
We will be holding a pre check-in at Warwick Myton Hospice (Myton Lane, off Myton Road, Warwick, CV34 6PX) on Saturday 23rd November from 10am to 12pm. You don’t need to bring anything with you, just give your details and the details of anyone else whose pack you might be collecting on their behalf. This will mean you don’t have to check-in on the morning of the event.
We ask that all festive fundraisers gather at Victoria Park (CV31 3PH). If you have never seen hundreds of Santas gathered like this before you are in for quite a treat!
Starting and finishing at Victoria Park, Santas and elves will run, walk or jog around the park and through Leamington Spa to complete their 5k. There will be clear signage throughout the route and there will be plenty of volunteer marshals to direct you and cheer you on!
There are plenty of parking facilities in Leamington Spa which are just a short walk away from Victoria Park:
- St Peters multi-storey CV32 5EL (access via Augusta Place)
- Adelaide Bridge CV31 3PD
- Bedford Street CV32 5DT
- Royal Priors multi-storey CV32 4XT
Please note that there will be temporary road closures along The Parade due to the Christmas market. See more parking options and charges at www.warwickdc.gov.uk/info/20546/leamington_car_parks
Whatever you wear, please make sure you wear suitable footwear and clothes underneath to keep you warm.
Everyone who completes the route will receive a special 2019 Santa Dash medal for their efforts!
Setting up a JustGiving fundraising page is one of the most effective and easy ways of encouraging families, friends and colleagues to sponsor you. By setting up a JustGiving page, you can share your fundraising page via email and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as often as you want to.
Having an online fundraising page also means you do not have to physically collect money after the event, plus Gift Aid is automatically calculated and processed.
If you haven't already why not set up your online fundraising page through JustGiving with just a few simple clicks.
You can also keep an eye on our JustGiving Top Fundraisers leader board to see if you’re in the top 10! Want to find out how to set up a JustGiving page?
Please let us know, by emailing the Events Team, if you set up a Fundraiser on Facebook; we receive limited information from Facebook which makes it extremely hard for us to link the donation to your fundraising otherwise.
These are two words charities love to hear! Many employers offer match funding which means they will match what you have raised (to a certain amount), potentially doubling what you raise for Myton! Why not speak to your employer to find out if this is something they will do?
UK taxpayers can raise an additional 25% through Gift Aid at no extra cost to themselves. To ensure we can claim Gift Aid we need the full name, home address and postcode of your sponsors – and of course, don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box!
