Ellie, Spiritual Care Lead and Chaplain at The Myton Hospices, was honoured to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace

Ellie, our Spiritual Care Lead and Chaplain at The Myton Hospices, was honoured to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace after being nominated by the Bishop of Coventry for her work in healthcare and hospice care.

Held on 6th May, the event brought together people from across the country who have made a difference in their communities, including leaders from charities, faith groups, the armed forces and voluntary organisations.

Ellie attended alongside her husband Jeremy and spent the afternoon in the stunning gardens of Buckingham Palace, enjoying tea, cake and music from the brass band, while joining thousands of guests from across the UK. Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla were in attendance, alongside The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and The Princess Royal.

Reflecting on the day, Ellie said:

It was a joy and a privilege to attend. It felt like being in another world for a few hours! I wore my Myton butterfly badge all day because symbolically I wanted to take the whole Myton team with me. Everyone here at Myton deserved to be there.

As Spiritual Care Lead and Chaplain, Ellie has supported countless patients, families, staff and volunteers. Spiritual care is an important part of the holistic support offered across Myton, supporting patients, families, staff and volunteers emotionally and spiritually alongside their wider care and wellbeing needs.

Everyone at Myton is proud of Ellie and the support she provides through her role, helping patients, families, staff and volunteers as part of Myton’s holistic care.
