Following his visit to Coventry Myton Hospice last year, Hospice UK Chair, Paul Jennings, visited Warwick Myton Hospice in June to see first-hand the specialist palliative and end of life care provided by The Myton Hospices, the only hospice in the local area with inpatient beds.
During his visit, Paul met with Chair of Trustees, Sarah Faulkner, Myton’s CEO, Ruth Freeman, and Jodie Morris, Director of Patient & Family Services, alongside members of our clinical and medical teams. He toured the hospice learning more about the compassionate, holistic approach provided to patients living with a life-limiting illness, as well as the support offered to their loved ones.

As part of his visit, Paul also spent time at 1 Mill Street in Leamington Spa, where he met with Nigel Shanahan, founder of 1 Mill Street and a valued partner of The Myton Hospices.
Through Make Good Grow – the social impact arm of 1 Mill Street, which connects skilled volunteers with local charities and good causes – Myton has built strong relationships with the local business and entrepreneurial community. These connections have created valuable opportunities to engage with individuals and organisations who share our commitment to making a difference for families across Coventry and Warwickshire.

It costs more than £15 million each year to provide our services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. As a charity, with less than 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we must raise more than £12 million annually to continue delivering our specialist care.
