The Myton Hospices achieves CPD accreditation for specialist end of life training

The Myton Hospices is proud to announce that two of its specialist education courses have achieved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation, recognising the quality of the training it provides to healthcare professionals across Coventry and Warwickshire and beyond.

Our Dementia at End of Life and Essentials of End of Life Care courses have both been independently accredited by the CPD Certification Service, giving learners confidence that the training has been independently assessed, meets recognised professional standards and supports their ongoing development.

The Dementia at End of Life course explores the barriers people living with dementia can face when accessing end of life care. It helps learners recognise deterioration, identify the signs and symptoms of the final stages of life, manage symptoms effectively and understand how to access local services and support.

The Essentials of End of Life Care course equips healthcare professionals, social care providers and care home staff with the knowledge and practical skills to deliver safe, compassionate care for people approaching the end of life, while also supporting those closest to them.

At The Myton Hospices, we believe everyone deserves access to outstanding end of life care, regardless of where they are being cared for. By sharing our specialist expertise through education, we are helping professionals develop the confidence and skills to deliver high-quality palliative and end of life care within their own organisations and communities.

Emma Charles, Clinical Education Lead at The Myton Hospices, said:

We are incredibly proud that these courses have achieved CPD accreditation. It is a fantastic recognition of the quality of the education we provide and gives learners confidence that our training has been independently assessed and meets recognised professional standards.

We know that not everyone who could benefit from hospice care is able to receive it, whether that's through personal choice or because of barriers to accessing specialist services. That's why it is so important that professionals working across health and social care have the skills and confidence to provide excellent end of life care wherever it is needed.

By sharing our specialist expertise through these accredited courses, we can help ensure more people living with life-limiting illnesses receive the compassionate care and support they deserve. Ultimately, our aim is to make sure no one has to face the end of life without access to expert care.
