We are hoping to perform something of a Christmas miracle and raise an amazing £40,000 in just 24 hours on Giving Tuesday so more people in Coventry and Warwickshire can access the vital care they need and deserve. And we need your help!

While hospices across the UK are facing the heart-breaking reality of cutting services and staff, we are working tirelessly to protect the care and support our patients and families rely on.

More people need a Hospice Bed now than ever before and demand for our Inpatient Units has increased by 11% in the last 12 months.

Tragically, too many people on the waiting list for a Hospice Bed at Myton will die before they can access one.

Both demand and costs are at an all-time high yet our NHS funding is lower than ever. We receive just 17% of our funding from the NHS, down from 20% last year, and must raise more than £1 million every month to continue providing our services free of charge for patients and their loved ones.

Thanks to the incredible support of our local community we can continue providing expert, compassionate palliative and end of life care to people like Milly and her family when they need us most…

The Myton Hospices - Milly and her daughters

In December 2024, Milly was being cared for at Coventry Myton Hospice. As Christmas approached, Milly wanted her daughters, then aged six and four, to have lasting memories of their time together, so they began creating memory boxes with the help of our Activities Coordinator. Milly said:

Having something like this available at Myton is incredible and really shows the depth of palliative care – they’re willing to help in any way they can. It’s the little things that mean the most. Like the memory boxes and having the children’s toys in the common area so they can play. The nurses greet them like they’re family and love having them around.

Milly died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on 3rd December, aged just 38.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference – if you are able to please support your local hospice and donate today online!
