Schools play a vital role in our community fundraising, and we have a range of engaging and fun activities that fit seamlessly into the school day whilst helping students learn valuable life skills.
Our school fundraising programmes are designed to be easy, fun and rewarding for students, staff, parents and carers, and we provide all the materials you need, including assemblies, sponsorship packs and certificates, so participating is as stress-free as possible for your school.
For younger children, our activities are interactive and playful, encouraging movement and exploring the outdoors. Preschool children can enjoy a sponsored walk that gets them moving while exploring their surroundings, such as our Welly Walk or Funflower Walk. Sponsorship envelopes, letters and certificates are provided for every child, making it easy to arrange and celebrate their participation.
Primary-aged children can take part in activities that teach responsibility and kindness whilst raising vital funds for their local hospice. They might participate in our Care for a Bear activity, Nurse Appeal or lend a Helping Hand, learning empathy, kindness and compassion, whilst raising money and awareness of Myton’s work. Our team can visit your school to deliver an assembly and provide all of the resources needed to take part. Every child is entered into a draw to win a teddy, so their efforts can be celebrated regardless of how much they raise.
For older students, fundraising can be a chance to take the lead and make a real impact. Secondary schools can organise their own events and campaigns, giving students ownership of their projects whilst developing teamwork, initiative and community awareness. We can support by sharing your efforts on social media, celebrating your students’ hard work and creativity.
Our school fundraising programmes don’t just raise money, they teach key values such as caring for others and the importance of community. By handling assemblies, materials and sponsorship, we aim to take the pressure off staff whilst giving students a meaningful, enjoyable experience that develops life skills, builds community spirit and supports your local hospice.
Rachael Ryan, Community Fundraising Manager at The Myton Hospices, said:
Seeing schools come together to support The Myton Hospices is truly inspiring. Every activity, big or small, helps us continue providing our vital services free of charge and teaches children the importance of kindness and community.
Support from schools helps ensure more people can access the care they need and deserve, from providing patient meals to counselling sessions and hospice beds, your school’s involvement can make a real difference right on your doorstep.
