Howard Parvin has been supporting The Myton Hospices for several years, knowing he is making a real difference locally. He said:
Myton is a brilliant local cause to support. At a time when there’s so much discussion in the media about palliative and end of life care, hospices are stepping in to provide vital support that the NHS simply isn’t able to cover on its own. They rely on ongoing community support to keep doing that.
That support recently came with a surprise, as Howard won £5,000
in our Spring Super Draw.
I couldn’t believe it, to be honest! I don’t usually win anything like this. I’ve had the odd £5 or £10 win with Myton’s lottery before, but nothing close to this. I was genuinely stunned when I found out I’d won such a large amount.
Howard and his wife have recently moved house and are in the middle of a series of renovation projects, including fitting a new bathroom, so the timing couldn’t have been better.
We’ve got quite a lot on the go at the moment, so the win has come at the perfect time. It’s going straight into helping us get those projects finished.
Despite his win, Howard says the real value of taking part has always been the cause itself.
