A record-breaking year for our Coventry Cathedral Abseil! Over £83,500 raised!

On Saturday 27th September, 118 daring abseilers faced the dizzying heights of Coventry Cathedral, stepping out of their comfort zones to raise vital funds.

So far, an incredible record-breaking £83,562 has been raised, and there’s still sponsorship coming in!

The Myton Hospices - Coventry Cathedral Abseil Challenge

We are truly grateful to everyone who took part and supported this year’s event.

Natalie Walker, Events and Campaigns Manager at The Myton Hospices, said:

We are incredibly grateful to each and every person who joined us on Saturday and braved their fears and stepped out of their comfort zone – quite literally – to raise vital funds for Myton. Your support means more people can access the expert, compassionate care they need and deserve. We cannot thank you enough!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s abseil such a success. Special thanks go to Eight Point Two for ensuring the day ran safely and smoothly, making it an enjoyable experience for all who took part. And thank you to MFS Solutions for helping to set up the event.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers and the performers, who generously gave their time to keep spirits high and energy buzzing throughout the day: Daniel Mitchell, John Oswin, David Seeley, Richard Keogh, and Kiaya Lyons.

We also want to give a special thanks to our brilliant MC, Paul Saunders.

The Myton Hospices - Abseil 2025

This year, it will cost £15.3 million to continue providing our services free of charge to people and their families living with life-limiting illnesses across Coventry and Warwickshire.

We are a charity, not part of the NHS, and receive just 17% of our funding from the NHS. That means we need to raise £12.7 million this year – more than £1 million every month!

We rely on the support of our local community and events like the abseil make a huge difference. Our vital work simply wouldn’t be possible without our incredible supporters. Thank you!
