Acts of kindness from Evelyn’s Gift

Like all charities, we rely on public generosity to continue providing our specialist care and support.

Every time a donation is made, whether it be a financial donation or an in- kind donation, we are reminded just how generous and compassionate our supporters are and how incredibly lucky we are to have each and every one of them.

This includes Evelyn’s Gift who over the past year have taken every opportunity to support Myton in any way they can.

Evelyn’s Gift is a local charity that aims to carry out kind and thoughtful deeds for those in need in Warwick and the surrounding areas. The charity was officially set up in 2015 by Helen Smith in memory of her 7 year old daughter, Evelyn Smith, who died suddenly in September 2013.

It is Evelyn’s caring and warm-hearted nature that influenced the charity’s ethos, ‘little acts of kindness’.

Last week, our friends at Evelyn’s Gift delivered a box full of brand new books and children’s activity packs to the hospice in the hope that these items will provide some level of comfort for children whilst they are visiting a loved one at Myton.

This is not the first donation we have been fortunate enough to receive from this wonderful charity.

Last year, Evelyn’s Gift donated unperfumed toiletries for our relatives’ accommodation as well as a new Mamas and Papas highchair for the family room at Warwick Myton Hospice. They have also recently donated £800 to transform the quiet rooms at Coventry Myton Hospice in the hope of creating a more peaceful, relaxing area for families to use whilst their relative is being cared for at the hospice.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Helen Smith and Evelyn’s Gift for choosing to support Myton. It is thanks to their donations that we are able to provide a comfortable, supportive environment for our patients and their loved ones and for this we cannot thank them enough.
