Myton golfers defy the weather to set fundraising records!

A blustery October day was never going to prevent almost 100 golfers from taking to the links at the Coventry Golf Club Finham in support of The Myton Hospices.

The Golf Day is a regular feature of the Myton calendar, and this year saw a record number of participants, and, more importantly, a record amount of money raised in support of the Myton mission.

Special thanks go out to the headline sponsors, InXpress, and the company’s owners David & Liz Murray, for their incredible generosity not only in donating funding for the event, but also providing goody-bags to every single player.

After 24 teams had made their way around a course made tricky by strong winds and squally showers, the winners were the team from Nelsons Logistics, with ‘The Kilworth Three & Rob’ coming in a close second and the ‘Noss on Wye Four’ in third.

There were additional prizes for longest drive and closest to the hole generously provided by our friends at BRI Wealth Management.

A massive thanks also goes out to Martin Sutliff, the PGA Golf Pro at Coventry Golf Club, his hard-working team, and of course the Club itself for the investment of time and resources they put into hosting and supporting the event.

No matter what happened on the course, the real winners on the day were The Myton Hospices, our patients and their families.

We raised over £15,000, a record amount for a Golf Day, and a big contribution towards the specialist care that Myton provides.
