On behalf of everyone at The Myton Hospices, we would like to thank everyone involved in the Charity Football Match that took place on Sunday 3rd July between Warwick United and Leamington Brakes Vets in aid of Myton.
Taking place at Racing Club Warwick, an incredible £841.05 was raised in total, with £490 being donated through their JustGiving page – £291.05 donations from bucket collections on the day, and one lottery sign up worth £60!
This is absolutely amazing – thank you to everyone who donated!
Congratulations to Leamington Brakes Vets for winning 3-2!
Special thanks go to Gary Vella from Racing Club Warwick for the incredible accommodation of the event by providing the facility free of charge, donating the food stall fee, providing the cup, as well as providing 4 weeks free pitch hire along with all equipment needed to get prepared for the match.
We would also like to thank Highland House Care Home in Stratford-Upon-Avon who kindly donated £250 on the JustGiving page, and to all the amazing supporters who attended on the day to cheer them on and who donated via the JustGiving page or into the collection buckets.
Finally, one massive thank you has to go to the players and referees from Warwick United and Leamington Brakes Vets for playing.
Paul Young, organiser of this event, said:
The reason behind organising this Charity Match was to help a local charity. It was a great way of getting the community together for some fun whilst raising money for an amazing charity.
Louise Careless, Community Fundraiser here at Myton, said:
We are so grateful for Paul and everyone else involved for choosing to support Myton with this Charity Football match.
We need to raise £9.1 million this year to continue providing our services free of charge, and without the incredible efforts of the wonderful people in our community, this would not be possible.
Thank you so much Paul for organising an incredible Charity Football Match! And due to the enormous success of this event, Paul has committed to turning this into an annual event in aid of Myton – we cannot wait for the next one!
