Christopher Harris marked the 30th anniversary of his father’s death with a fundraising challenge with a twist!

Having trained in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do for over 30 years, he decided to try and set a world record by breaking wooden planks with a jumping high kick. And as if that wasn’t hard enough, he made his challenge even greater by completing it while blindfolded!

Christopher explains:

It was my intention to set the record on 2nd February to mark 30 years to the day since my father passed away. I received lots of support from family, close friends, my instructor and members from the Tae Kwon Do club. Overall I broke 126 boards in 5 minutes and 26 seconds and have raised £1,048 to say thank you to Myton for the care they gave my father before he passed away.

To give himself the best chance of his record attempt being verified by the Guinness World Records, two different people filmed Christopher breaking the boards and a third person kept time with a stop watch.

He is still waiting for confirmation from Guinness World Records, and everyone at Myton is keeping their fingers crossed that they will accept the record attempt!
