Co-op members partnership to boost The Myton Hospice’s Patient and Carer Wellbeing service – so please select us as your chosen charity!

The wellbeing of our patients and carers has been handed a huge boost after Myton was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Co-op Local Community Fund.

Between now and 22 October 2022 ...

Co-op members will be able to choose Myton as the charity to benefit when they shop and use Co-op services. The process is simple – all supporters have to do is log into their account online and select Myton as their chosen charity. Once that’s done, every time they swipe their members card at the point of payment - Co-op will donate money to Myton’s Patient and Carer Wellbeing Service.

The service works with people living with a terminal illness, their families and carers, to offer a range of support and activities to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

When customers buy selected Co-op products and services, 2p for every £1 they spend goes into their Co-op Membership account – and Co-op will give the same amount to support community organisations and local causes – like Myton.

Money generously raised by Co-op members and ...

the organisation will be spent on materials for a range of craft sessions and social activities, such as embroidery, macramé and gardening, which will be held for half a day each week at our Hospice sites, with Doorstep Craft Packs for those who wish to take part from home.

Ruth Freeman, CEO at The Myton Hospices, said:

We are so grateful to Co-op for selecting Myton as one of its chosen charities to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund and would be delighted if members would be so kind as to show their support too by choosing us whenever they use their Members Card.

Your support means to much to us and, more importantly, to our patients and their loved ones. The money we receive as part of this wonderful partnership will make such a huge difference to people’s lives. Our Patient and Carer Wellbeing sessions aim to connect patients, carers and family members at a time when people can often feel alone.

Even without the Covid-19 Pandemic, living with a terminal illness or being a carer can be a very lonely place. It has never been more important that we do all we can to support patients and carers in our community by providing sessions to improve their wellbeing. Thank you to everyone who is helping us make a difference.

Santa’s Sleigh takes to the streets of Warwick!

The magic of Christmas is being brought to homes in Warwick this December as our brand new Santa Sleigh takes to the streets.

From December 14 to 17, between 6pm and 9pm, Father Christmas and his sleigh will be spreading seasonal cheer and adding to the yuletide excitement as they meet families and children across the town, filling the streets with the magical sound of Christmas songs and festive joy.

And all the Hospice asks in return is for people to come out and see Santa and his elves, join in the festivities and make a donation to Myton to help it continue its amazing work caring for patients across Coventry and Warwickshire with a terminal illness this Christmas time and beyond.
