Could you free fall 10,000 feet to raise money for The Myton Hospices?

It sounds like a scary thing to do, but we know what an adrenaline rush it is to jump out of a plane, especially for such a good cause!

So what does it take to be a Team Myton skydiver?

Well you’ll be pleased to know you won’t be alone for your skydive! There will be plenty of other people jumping out of the plane in aid of Myton. And you will be completing the challenge as a tandem skydive, which means you’ll have an experienced and qualified instructor strapped to you.

Emilia and her sister Nayana...

Took on our most recent skydive in memory of their Great Auntie Carol who died at Warwick Myton Hospice in February 2017. Their dad had already done a Myton skydive in memory of Carol, and as Nayana turned 16 in August 2018 the sisters chose to take the leap of faith in September!

Carol had her leg amputated above the knee in 2014 after finding a cancerous lump. In the summer of 2015 she had a small cancerous mass removed from her lungs. This gave her a few cancer free months, but unfortunately in February 2016 she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Emilia said:

Carol was the strongest person we knew; she never complained about the pain she was in and she just kept fighting on. She is a real inspiration to us.

We would go to her flat every day to spend time with her, cook her food and play games together along with our mum Helen and grandma Celia. We would take her out shopping and treat her to new clothes. She still kept fighting through. On 10th February 2017, Carol was really suffering with her pain from the tumours so she was taken to Warwick Myton Hospice. We stayed with her all night long with our mum and grandma. Carol sadly passed away in Myton Hospice two days later.

We’re so glad we did the skydive; I would definitely do another one! The views when you’re up there are amazing. We’ve raised £1,458 for Myton in aid of Carol. It’s a once in a lifetime thing so if you’re thinking of doing one, go for it!

Our next skydive takes place on Saturday 27th April 2019. Our last skydive raised over £9,500 for Myton! If you’re feeling inspired sign up below to secure your place!
