Coventry Myton Hospice brought the seaside to our patients and their loved ones with our Summer Beach Day

The hospice gardens were transformed into a sunny seaside paradise, filled with summer activities, music and plenty of delicious treats.

There was something for everyone to enjoy – from meeting two beautiful ponies, to singing along with a talented country duo, to watching a lively performance from a local dance school. Guests were spoilt for choice with refreshments, including a doughnut wall, crisps wall, sweet and popcorn cones, homemade cakes, freshly made samosas, and an ice cream van.

Fun-filled activities kept everyone in the summer spirit, including garden games, hook a duck, name the teddy, a sand-filled paddling pool for building sandcastles, and rock and pebble painting. Patients and families could also choose from handmade crochet keyrings – shaped like sunflowers, angels, caterpillars and cats – and add a little sparkle with face glitter gems.

Kerry Merry, Senior Staff Nurse at Coventry Myton Hospice, said:

It was a great day for our patients and their families. There was something for everyone to enjoy, and it was lovely to see so many people taking part and making the most of the day.

We love creating moments like these, where patients can spend precious time with the people who matter most and make lasting memories.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made our Summer Beach Day possible – from performers and activity providers to staff, volunteers, and generous supporters who donated items. Your kindness helped create a truly special day for all who attended.
