Fashion Influencer Andrea Visits The Myton Hospices Charity Shops in Rugby

Shopping sustainably is incredibly important, not just for the environment but also for supporting vital services within your community; when you donate or buy from one of our 25 charity shops across Coventry and Warwickshire you are making a real difference.

We wanted to spotlight this and showcase the amazing work our retail team do here at The Myton Hospices, so we invited a special guest to some of our shops.

We welcomed Andrea from Andrea’s Fashion Galaxy to our three shops in Rugby. As a second-hand fashion influencer, Andrea was eager to gain a deeper insight into our charity fashion workspace and understand the scale and operations behind our trio of shops in the town.

The tour began at our shop on Albert St, where Andrea explored the shop and the storeroom, discovering the donated treasures. Next, we moved to our Church St shop, where Andrea visited the shopfloor and our eCommerce office located above. Here, she browsed through a variety of items including bric-a-brac, clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories, all currently, or yet-to-be, listed on our eBay shop. Additionally, Andrea styled the shop window with her favourite items.

The tour concluded at our newest Rugby location, in Rugby Central Shopping Centre, which offers a wide range of new and used furniture, white goods, and wedding attire and accessories. Andrea received a behind the scenes tour, including the upstairs area where our eCommerce clothes are stored. She also spent some time browsing and purchased her favourite items.

Andrea commented on her time with our team:

I am very grateful to have been invited to experience the behind-the-scenes of The Myton Hospices charity shops in Rugby. I met many lovely people on and behind the shopfloor across all three Rugby shops and was shown around by the wonderful Lisa and Sophie from Myton who explained the workings of both the physical and online charity world to me.

Being an avid charity shopper (and yes, I bought an item or two, or ten to be precise, from Myton), this was an invaluable experience and an even more meaningful one given that I was inspired to start my fashion content creation career after reading the life lessons of hospice patients summed up by Bronnie Ware in her insightful book 'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying'.

I can't wait to tell my audience about The Myton Hospices, to show off my purchases and to encourage them to support Myton by checking out their charity shops as well as their eBay and Depop sites. Thanks again for inviting me Myton!

Lisa, eCommerce Assistant at The Myton Hospices, added:

Andrea does a lot of work with sustainable fashion, so we were honoured to show her the behind-the-scenes of our own contribution in this sphere. The inner workings of charity retail are an ever-changing, constantly evolving landscape and regional charities have large scope to do great things with fashion and sustainability. Working with influencers like Andrea is part of that path.

We are thrilled we had the chance to show Andrea how our charity shops work at Myton and are so grateful for the time she spent finding out more about our vital hospice services too.

At The Myton Hospices, our charity shops play a crucial role; funding the care of 1 in 4 of our patients. By shopping at, and donating to, one of our 25 shops, you are helping to ensure we can provide our services free of charge to people with life limiting illnesses and their families, whilst also promoting a more sustainable and responsible approach to fashion.

We are a charity and this year alone we need to raise £11 million, your support enables us to continue providing vital care, so we can be there for more people, now and in the future.
