Staff at HB&O Financial Services have raised an amazing £3,000 for The Myton Hospices by cycling, running, walking, rowing, hopping (or any other method of movement excluding motorised vehicles) to complete a 410-mile charity challenge.

The team initially planned to raise £2,000 from their challenge – to be split between Myton and NSPANational Suicide Prevention AllianceCoventry & Warwickshire Mind.

But the support from family, friends and clients...

along with a substantial donation from the company itself – saw the final total reaching over £6,000, meaning each of the charities received just over £3,000.

Myton is very close to the heart of many staff members and clients of HB&O Financial Services, who have received care from its three Hospices in Coventry, Warwick and Rugby and through its dedicated Myton at Home service, providing end-of-life care in patients’ own homes.

Anthony Baynham, a Director of the Leamington-based firm said:

We have many clients and close associates whose friends and family have benefitted from the exceptional end-of-life care offered by The Myton Hospices so we were delighted to be able to support them at such a vital time when their fundraising has been hit so hard by the Coronavirus pandemic.

As a company, we are proud and eager to support key charities in our local community.

Chris Willmott, corporate fundraiser at The Myton Hospices, welcomed the incredible donation by saying:

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and everyone who donated to reach this fabulous amount of money – including the company itself for topping up the total so each of the charities received an amazing £3,000 each.

We have never needed the support more than in the past 18 months and this wonderful donation will make such a huge difference to our patients and their families at a time they need it most by allowing us to continue to provide our services, free of charge, to people across Coventry and Warwickshire with a life-limiting illness.
