Hundreds of runners have helped raise more than £31,000 for The Myton Hospices by taking part in this year’s Two Castles Run

A fantastic 73 runners secured one of Myton's charity places, raising an incredible £26,286.88, while a further 138 people who took part chose to support Myton, raising an additional £6,050.92. Together, they raised an amazing £32,337.80 to support specialist palliative and end of life care across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The Myton Hospices would like to thank Richard and the team at Kenilworth Runners, along with the Rotary Club of Kenilworth, for making this popular event possible. The Rotary Club has organised the Two Castles Run for almost 70 years and is now passing the event on to Kenilworth Runners. Thank you to everyone involved over the past seven decades for supporting local charities and organisations through this iconic race.

A huge thank you also goes to Myton's wonderful volunteers, who brought plenty of energy and encouragement to the Myton Cheer Point, helping to spur runners on to the finish line.

We're incredibly grateful to every single person who chose to support Myton through this year's Two Castles Run, whether you ran, volunteered, donated or cheered from the side-lines. Together you've raised an amazing amount that will help us continue providing specialist hospice care for people across Coventry and Warwickshire living with life-limiting illnesses, and support for their loved ones. With demand for our services continuing to grow, every pound raised really does make a difference, and our vital work wouldn’t be possible without the support of our local community.

From first-time runners to those taking part in memory of loved ones, everyone had their own reason for supporting The Myton Hospices. Here's what some of this year's participants had to say about the day and why they chose to run for Myton.

Myself and a couple of friends started running together at Christmas to help my friend with marathon training. Unfortunately, she became injured, but the silver lining was that we realised we could all manage a 10K, so we decided to enter the Two Castles Run. After hearing great things about the event, I thought it would also be a good opportunity to support The Myton Hospices. The generous support from family and friends gave me even more motivation to complete the run, which I was very thankful for.

The run itself was hard work but incredibly rewarding, with crowds of people cheering us on all the way.

I took part in this run to raise money for The Myton Hospices following the great care they gave my friend, Shelley Wood, who sadly died on 12th October 2025. There are so many people who need Myton's support, and this was my contribution to help them continue caring for others.

I wanted to fundraise for The Myton Hospices because I have first-hand experience of hospice care after both my parents received support at different stages, some years ago. I think hospices provide invaluable end of life and respite care, supporting not only patients but their families too.

It was my first time taking part in the Two Castles Run and, despite the hills, I really enjoyed it! The support along the route was fantastic, with jelly babies, water and sprinklers helping to keep us going. Knowing that so many friends and family had sponsored me helped get me over the finish line!

I ran the Two Castles Run this year with my husband, Paul, and my sister, Chloe. It was a lovely event on a beautiful day, and we were really encouraged by the Myton supporters along the route.

I'm a hospital doctor and have seen first-hand the huge difference specialist hospice support makes to people at the end of their lives and to their families. Lots of my sponsors were colleagues from the hospital, and we were very proud to be fundraising for such a wonderful team of people.

I ran the Two Castles Run in memory of my mother, Susan Cleary. Before she died in 2019, she was cared for with great compassion and dignity by The Myton Hospices in Warwick. Over the years, I have continued to raise money for Myton as a way of giving back for the incredible support and care they provide to so many families, including my own.

Taking part in this run was another opportunity to honour my mum's memory and support a cause that means so much to me. She is deeply missed by her children and grandchildren and will always be remembered.

It was a pleasure to run the Two Castles Run in support of Myton and to raise more sponsorship than I ever imagined. I think this shows what a wonderful cause hospice care is and how much it resonates with people.

The race itself was a joy, with phenomenal local support that really kept you motivated. I hadn't taken part in an event since the 2011 London Marathon for St Joseph's Hospice in Hackney, so I was a bit rusty and nervous, but the crowds really lift you. It was especially lovely to hear the Myton supporters along the route, and I look forward to running more regularly now.

I chose Myton because both my parents received hospice support in the final days of their wonderful lives. It meant so much to them, and to us as a family, to know they were cared for with such kindness and respect.

Thank you to everyone at Myton for all your support and encouragement, and for the lovely red running shirt too!

I wanted the challenge of a longer run, and my motivation was The Myton Hospices because they need all the support they can get. After seeing my father need end of life care, I know it isn't always easy to navigate, but thankfully he was able to spend his final days where he wanted to be. I'd like to know that my family, and I, would have the opportunity to be cared for by Myton if that time ever came because they provide such amazing care. With government funding being so limited, fundraising is so important.

My mum died in December and The Myton Hospices was a great source of strength for her at the end of her life. I wanted to run to raise money for this wonderful cause and help in any way I could.

The Myton Hospices is such a fantastic local charity. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in December 2024 and died in February 2025. During his last few days, he said he would like to go to Myton, but sadly he didn't make it there.

I'm not a runner, but getting out running really helped me after losing Dad, so I thought, why not take on the Two Castles Run for Myton? It was a hot and hilly morning, but I did it!

Feeling inspired? Whether you're a seasoned runner or looking to take on your first fundraising challenge, there's an event for everyone.
