Planning for the future is something many of us mean to do, but rarely get around to. This March, The Myton Hospices is offering a simple opportunity to tick something important off your list, while also helping ensure hospice care continues to be available for local families when they need it most, now and in the future.

Make a Will Week takes place from 2nd-6th March 2026, giving you the chance to write or update a basic Will with the support of local solicitors, in return for a donation to Myton.

We spend our lives working to provide for ourselves and our loved ones, and making a Will is one of the most effective ways to protect the people closest to you. It ensures your wishes are clear and your estate, whether that includes property, savings, possessions or digital assets, is shared according to your wishes.

Everyone should have a Will, but it is even more important if you have children, your own property or business, or have savings, investments or insurance policies.

Make a Will Week makes the process straightforward whilst supporting your local hospice. Solicitors cross Coventry and Warwickshire generously donate their time and expertise to help Myton supporters put a Will in place or make updates to an existing one.

Gifts in Wills play a vital role in helping Myton continue to provide their services free of charge, funding the care of 1 in 4 patients.

Hospices across the UK are facing financial pressures, and some have had to make heart-breaking decisions, like closing services and cutting staff, in order to survive. By including a gift in your Will, you can help ensure that Myton remains here for everyone in Coventry and Warwickshire, providing care and support for people when they need it most.

Con McHugh, who took part in a previous Make a Will Week, has experienced Myton’s support first-hand. He said:

Our family were fortunate to experience the very best of what Myton offers our community. We hope you will consider taking part in Make a Will Week and help raise the vital funds Myton needs so that others can also access the incredible support they provide.

When we were at our lowest, Myton was there for us. After discussions with the oncologist, we were told that no more could be done and that James’ chemotherapy would be stopped. Our son was given only weeks to live, and we were told to prepare for the worst. At that point, we turned to Myton, and we were fortunate to secure a transfer for him to Coventry Myton Hospice. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much for them.

Taking part in Make a Will Week gives you peace of mind that your plans are in place and helps ensure Myton can continue to support local people.
