Starting at 5am on the day of the event, Tony decided to go double the distance and walked the route twice! This was the fourth year in a row he has taken part in Walk for Myton. And his efforts have paid off, with this year’s fundraising total standing at £760!

I lost my sister Marion in 2000, she was at Warwick Myton Hospice, and my wife’s father died at Coventry Myton in 2015 – that was the first year I did Walk for Myton. Everyone says how pleasant Myton is and how well looked after you are there. This year I turned 60 so wanted to mark it with something big! I started at 5am and walked the 12 mile route clockwise; by the time I was returning to Myton people had already set off and were telling me I was going the wrong way! I stopped a few times to tell people what I was doing. I grew up in Leamington and enjoy the walk because it takes me through my past – I revisit places I went when I was a child.
After four hours of walking, Tony gave himself a 20 minute break at Warwick Myton Hospice before completing the route again, this time the right way round. All in all, Tony spent just over 8 hours walking!
Thank you Tony from everyone at Myton for your continued support! We hope to see you for a fifth year running in 2019!
