The Myton Hospices first ever abseil has raised almost £50,000!

After being postponed for a week because of the high winds, the sun shone and the sky was clear on Saturday for our rescheduled abseil down Coventry Cathedral!

Over 120 people climbed to the top of the city landmark and were rewarded with beautiful views for miles. The cheers of friends, family and passers-by – as well as the prospect of a drink afterwards for some – helped even the most nervous to make their way steadily down the side of the cathedral.

Superwoman, Deadpool, Spiderwoman, Where’s Wally, a clown and Myton’s own Monty Bear were just a few of the notable figures who could be seen taking on the challenge. Myton staff also took on the challenge including nurses, doctors and members of the Fundraising and Retail teams!

Just under £50,000 has been raised so far, exceeding our target of £35,000, with sponsorship still to be collected and counted!

Thank you to everyone who took part or sponsored those taking part – we could not have raised this fantastic amount without you!

And a huge thank you also to Coventry Cathedral and Eight Point Two for facilitating the abseil, and the wonderful volunteers who helped us to put on this amazing challenge!

Be sure to keep an eye on our official Facebook Page as we will be releasing all of the photos from the day very soon...

Due to the huge success and demand for this event, we are bringing the abseil back on Saturday 9th March 2019!
