It’s an uphill challenge from now on for the Myton Magic fundraising team as they ramp up their training for the South Coast Ultra Challenge!

As the countdown to their 55km South Coast Ultra Challenge continues to gather pace, the Myton Magic physio team are stepping up their training efforts in preparation for the big day.

As we previously shared with you, Nicola Woolvine, Susan Fraser and Kathryn Howell are key members of The Myton Hospice team, caring for our patients through their roles as therapists.

But, so passionate are they about the cause, they also wanted to join the amazing army of fundraisers we depend on to provide our services free of charge to people with a life-limiting illness across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Which is why they set themselves the mission of taking on the Ultra Challenge.

Given their busy schedules caring for Myton’s patients, just getting to train together is a feat in itself.

But, with some decent distances under their belts...

much completed around Draycote Water and the surrounding countryside – the intrepid trio are now upping their efforts on the strength side of their challenge.

To boost their fitness levels, they have been climbing stairs, rowing and riding a tandem.

And now they are putting time in their busy diaries to get out and hit the hills – experience vital to them being successful on their South Coast mission.

They said:

It’s really tricky getting the time to train together, but we’re certainly getting through the miles.

But September is fast approaching and so our focus now switches to strength and hill training as we don’t want to get to the challenge unprepared.

The fitter we are and the more hills we’ve taken on, the more we will be able to enjoy the challenge.

Nikki, Susan and Kath – or Myton Magic as they are known – have set themselves a fundraising target of £1,000!
