49 incredible supporters took on our Dalai Lama Himalayan Trek to raise vital funds for The Myton Hospices, and together they raised an amazing £103,559!
We are truly blown away by this incredible amount and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and all those who sponsored or supported them along the way! The money raised will make a real difference to our patients and their loved ones.
The adventure began in Delhi, where the group explored the city’s landmarks before travelling overnight to Dharamsala, home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community.
From there, they continued to Bir at the foothills of the Himalayas to begin a five-day trek through dense forests, mountain passes, and remote villages. Along the route, the team experienced varied terrain, spectacular scenery and local culture, camping overnight or staying in traditional mountain lodges.
The challenge concluded with visits to the historic Baijnath Temple and the Norbulinka Institute before the group returned to Delhi.

We’d like to congratulate, and again thank, everyone who took part – the money raised could fund over 4 months of specialist nursing care.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the local Dream and Adventure team for taking such great care of our group throughout the trek and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Natalie Walker, Events & Campaigns Manager at The Myton Hospices, said:
I would like to say a big thank you to each and every person that took part in our Himalayan Trek. It was such a wonderful and special thing to be part of with you all. Your hard work, determination and fundraising is amazing. Your support will make such a difference to our patients and their families.
Did you know…? This year, it costs £15.3 million to continue providing our services free of charge. We are a charity, not the NHS, and we only get 17% of our funding from the NHS. That means we have to raise £12.7 million this year – that’s over £1 million each month!
We couldn’t provide our vital services without the support of people like our incredible trekkers.
