Over 450 cyclists took part in this year’s Cycle Challenge, blessed with the very best British sunshine! Thank you to each and every one of you for raising vital funds for The Myton Hospices and to everyone who sponsored and supported you along the way!
Over £70,939 has been raised, ensuring we can support more people living with a life-limiting illness and their families across Coventry and Warwickshire!
Cyclists took on the 50km, 100km and 100 mile routes, all using their courage and stamina to complete the challenge for the cause! And in exchange they were taken on a beautiful ride through the picturesque villages of Warwickshire and the Cotswolds.
A special shout-out to our top fundraisers Jeremy Simmons £2,154.73, Paul Johnson £1,340 and Simon Horan £1,058! You are superstars!
There are some very special people who made the event such a success...
Thank you to Simon Coates Photography, who generously donated his time to capture the event. Take a look at the photos below to see if you can spot a familiar face!
The BBQ was a smash hit and was a well-deserved treat for all our cyclists. Thank you to Ed and Ted who once again organised the delicious food. The Ice Cream Van also proved popular in the sunshine – thank you Ultimate Ices!
We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful folks at Unleashed for providing technical support, repairs and assistance on the day, and to Fire & Earth Leamington for providing free sports massages. You are all incredible!
The performers sounded absolutely beautiful thanks to Paul Smith, Kirsty Ann and Paul Wyllie.
We have to thank our friends from local businesses, supermarkets and Amazon for donating food for our rest stops. You fuelled our cyclists to continue on their challenge!
Our neighbours Warwick and Myton School, also The Social Services for providing free parking facilities.
And last, but by no means least, thank you to our wonderful volunteers, suppliers and sponsor, Winkworth Leamington, we are incredibly grateful for all your support for this year’s Cycle Challenge.
We couldn’t have raised such an amazing amount without all of you!
Did you know…? We are not the NHS, we are a charity and just 20% of our funding comes from the NHS.
This year alone, we need to raise £11 million of the £14.3 million it costs to continue providing our services free of charge to patients and their loved ones.
