The generosity of Hinckley and Rugby Building Society savers, who choose to invest in the Society’s Hospice Affinity account, has resulted in a fabulous donation of £7,700 to The Myton Hospices.
Launched in 2008 the Affinity account sees the building society annually donate one per cent of the average balances held in it to three local Hospices – Myton, Leicester-based LOROS, and Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton.
All of the Hospices were delighted to receive this year’s amazing donation of £7,700 each – a total donation of over £23,000 by the HRBS savers.
This year also saw the Affinity Account reach a major milestone with a total of £209,000 having been shared between Myton, LOROS and Mary Ann Evans in the past 15 years.
Chris Willmott, Partnerships manager at Myton, welcomed the ‘wonderful’ donation.
He said:
The support of HRBS and its wonderful customers, through its dedicated Hospice Affinity Savings Account, has seen an amazing £80,000 and counting raised for The Myton Hospices over the past 15 years.
Even more amazing is that the scheme has now raised over £200,000 for local Hospices which is a remarkable achievement and landmark.
This support is priceless, allowing us to continue to provide our care, free of charge, to people living with terminal illnesses across Coventry and Warwickshire and their families, when they need it most.
A huge thank you from everyone at Myton and on behalf of all our patients and families.
Head of Savings at HRBS, Andrea Belle, added:
I am so pleased the Society is able to show its support to the hospices providing these vital services in our local communities.
I would like to pass on my thanks to the Society’s savers who have chosen this very special account and made these wonderful donations possible.
