Spa Centre Christmas pantomime raises record amount for The Myton Hospices

The curtains have come down on the Royal Spa Centre’s most successful ever festive fundraising season – all in aid of The Myton Hospices.

A fabulous £12,751 was donated by visitors to the 34 performances of this year’s Christmas offering – Cinderella.

The Myton Hospices - Cinderella Pantomime

Huge thanks to Warwick District Council and the Royal Spa Centre for selecting Myton as their chosen Charity of the Year, to our amazing army of volunteers who collected after the shows, and last, but definitely by no means least, the fabulous panto-goers who donated so generously at each and every performance to raise such an amazing amount of money.

The money will be used for general running costs at our Hospices and contribute towards our Cuddle Bed Campaign to raise enough money to buy a fantastic Cuddle Bed – a traditional hospice bed, but double rather than single so families can lie alongside their loved ones and share an ever-important cuddle.

Charlotte Ingram, Director of Income Generation at The Myton Hospices, said:

We are so very grateful to everyone involved in this truly wonderful festive fundraising for Myton.

To the Royal Spa Centre and Warwick District Council for choosing us as their charity partner, to the wonderful volunteers who collected at each and every one of the 34 performances of the fabulous panto, and to the amazingly generous people who donated such a stunning amount of money.

We simply cannot do what we do without this kind of wonderful support – so thank you, on behalf of everyone at Myton, and, perhaps most importantly, on behalf of our patients and their loved ones whose lives your support makes such a difference to.”

Further generosity from the Royal Spa Centre also made the high levels of fundraising possible – offering a family ticket to Myton’s amazing fundraisers, so they could enjoy the sell-out show before grabbing their collection buckets and benefitting from the amazing generosity of the audience on their way home.

A spokesperson for Warwick District Council and the Royal Spa Centre said:

This incredible amount is the highest total ever raised during a pantomime run at the Royal Spa Centre and goes to show that even in a cost of living crisis, people are kind and generous enough to part with their hard-earned cash for a deserved cause.

This is going to make a real difference to people’s lives, and that’s thanks to everyone who attended Cinderella and put some money in a bucket, or donated online.

Cinderella’s production company, Imagine Theatre, have also been delighted by the success of the pantomime – and the amazing fundraising.

They said:

We are thrilled at the success of the Royal Spa Centre panto which goes from strength the strength each year and is now a regular part of Christmas for so many people.

We strive to offer a top-class family friendly panto at affordable prices for the people of Warwickshire and the fact we have broken records this year is thanks to the hard work of everyone involved in the productions over the last few seasons.

Pantomime is very close to our hearts and is a wonderful way to introduce children to theatre and is something that the whole family, whatever their age, can enjoy together.

We are already busy planning for Jack and the Beanstalk and cannot wait to bring this marvellous panto to the Royal Spa Centre stage in December 2023.
