Talented employees across Coventry and Warwickshire have raised £30,153 for The Myton Hospices by taking part in this year’s Take 50 Challenge.
12 local businesses each entered a team to take on our annual corporate challenge which started on Wednesday 6th April.
Participants had 50 days to turn £50 into as much money as possible for Myton with the winners of this year’s challenge, Iress in Warwick, raising an impressive £6,953.58.
This fantastic amount of money is enough to fund 278 hours of specialist nursing care.
On Thursday 26th May, at the end of the 50 day challenge, participants were invited to attend an awards dinner at Woodland Grange in Leamington Spa where a variety of awards were presented.
This year’s winners included Bennetts in Coventry who won Best Newcomer after raising £2,030.52 and John Taylor Funeral Directors in Warwick who won the Most Improved award after raising £6,650 during this year’s Take 50, which is £2,189.45 more than they raised last year.
Each team worked tirelessly to organise exciting fundraising activities to demonstrate their entrepreneurial ability, hosting a wide range of events throughout the 50 days from fashion shows to duck races.
This year’s Most Innovative Fundraiser award was presented to George and Co in Rugby who arranged a ghost hunt at Guy’s Cliff House in Warwick.
Hannah Morris, Corporate Fundraising Development Manager, said, ‘We are delighted with the result of this year’s Take 50 and would like to thank each and every team member for taking part in the challenge. We need to raise over £11 million each year to provide our services in the local area and therefore rely heavily on events such as the Take 50 Challenge to raise these funds. The money raised by all 12 teams will make a huge difference here at Myton and will greatly benefit our patients and their families. We really enjoyed this year’s challenge and hope to see even more teams taking part next year!’
We would like to say a very big thank you to our long standing supporters, Woodland Grange, for sponsoring this year’s Take 50 challenge.
