On 14th February, we hosted an afternoon tea at our Warwick Myton Hospice to say a big thank you to eleven incredible volunteers who make up Harbury Supporters Group. The group have fundraised for Myton since 1995 and are sadly disbanding for a well-deserved rest.
Since 1995, these wonderful ladies have supported Myton through countless fundraising efforts, including coffee mornings, craft fayres and Christmas tombola's.
Through their many years fundraising, the group have raised a staggering £147,981.03!
We cannot be more thankful to the group for their tireless dedication!
We’d like to take the time to thank each individual who has selflessly devoted the last twenty-nine years to support Myton. Thank you to Doreen, Mary, Sylvia, Shirley, Fiona, Helen, Eileen, Joy, Margaret, Carol and Pip for all your hard work!
During the afternoon tea, we awarded Joy and Fiona (via her mum Shirley as she couldn’t attend!) with their 15-year Long Service Award! Congratulations and thank you ladies!
However, we are not losing all the fabulous brains behind the group, with Margaret, Carol and Pip joining the new ‘Friends of Myton’ consortium. Margaret will be leading as ‘head organiser’ for the team who are continuing the success of their coffee mornings – the first coffee morning of this year was held on 21st January and raised an amazing £279!
The Myton Hospices Community Fundraiser, Louise Careless, commented on the success of the group:

Thank you to everyone involved in Harbury Supporters Group! Thanks to you we have been able to provide our vital services free of charge for more patients and their families in Coventry and Warwickshire.
This year alone we need to raise £11 million in donations and really couldn't do it without the support of our amazing community!
