We’d like to say a huge thank you to Tesco for their ongoing and generous support of The Myton Hospices.

Thanks to the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme, hundreds, if not thousands, of people in our local community have helped secure vital funding for us by voting in-store. Since June 2023, we’ve received nine grants through the scheme, totalling £13,026, all of which has gone towards our Children’s Bereavement Counselling service.

Earlier this year, Tesco introduced a special Golden Grant Day, where 100 stores across the UK were given a golden token allowing one customer to choose a local cause to receive £5,000. We were thrilled to be selected by a customer at the Tesco Express in Leamington – thank you!

Before Tesco Stronger Starts, the supermarket had already awarded us two grants totalling £4,000 to support our gardening and art therapy activities. They also gave £500 towards hand-sanitiser in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.

Altogether, Tesco’s support now stands at an incredible £17,526.

Tesco also supports us in many other ways, including collecting donations for our Easter Egg tombolas and Summer and Christmas fayres, hosting in-store bucket collections, and generously donating food and drink for our events throughout the year.

We are incredibly grateful to Tesco and their amazing customers for their generosity over the past six years. Their support for our Children’s Bereavement Counselling service is invaluable, helping children and young people navigate the emotional impact of the death of a loved one.

We are a charity, we are not the NHS, and we have to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it costs this year to continue providing our services free of charge. Support like this is vital to ensuring we can continue to be here for more people when they need us most, now and in the future.
