The Myton Hospices couldn’t continue without the support of around 1,000 volunteers, which is why we like to say thank you to them all with special events!

When the weather is warmer and the nights are longer, Myton staff pull on their aprons to welcome volunteers from across the organisation to special thank you barbeques!

Almost 300 volunteers came to one of our three hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick, and were thanked by our CEO and Chair of Trustees for all that they do for Myton.

Martha Michelson, Volunteering Development Officer at The Myton Hospices, said:

The annual barbeques are just one of the events we hold to thank our volunteers for their valued contribution for Myton. It’s also an opportunity for them to socialise with other volunteers and staff while being acknowledged for their commitment. We hope that each and every one of them feels appreciated and a part of our volunteering family.

Rapid Response Team (RRT) provided their own volunteers and catered for the BBQs at our Warwick and Coventry hospices and Myton staff ensured our dedicated Myton volunteers were well fed and watered throughout.

Martha added:

RRT did a phenomenal job supporting our annual volunteer thank you BBQs. All the guests were so amazed by their generosity and the quality of food and service was outstanding.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team and help make a difference for people in Coventry and Warwickshire living with terminal illnesses, and their families.

We have a wide range of roles available from maintenance to hairdressing, retail to housekeeping, and gardening to catering!
