The annual Leam Terrace Street Party raises vital funds for The Myton Hospices!

Since 2012, the Leam Terrace Street Party has brought the local community together, raising significant funds for The Myton Hospices. Organised in collaboration with The New Inn Pub, this beloved annual event has grown to be a highlight for local residents.

In 2017, the current organising committee, including Kate Hartshorn, took over running the event. Kate said:

“It’s a fantastic community event that not only brings people together, but raises vital funds for charity. When the previous committee planned to retire the event, we knew we had to step in to keep this amazing tradition going.”

The street party offers a day of family fun, with stalls, games, competitions, auctions and delicious food and drink. Kate added:

“Seeing the community come together for a fun day whilst raising lots of money for charity makes all the effort worthwhile. It’s so rewarding to see our team pull off such a successful event year after year. And of course, the after party is also a highlight!”

This year’s street party raised an amazing £6,305, bringing the total raised since 2017 to a remarkable £27,479.53! Kate commented:

“We are incredibly proud of what we have raised over the years – not bad for a small group of residents who volunteer their time. Myton is such an important charity that has touched many lives in our community and we will continue to support them for as long as we can.”

Louise Careless, Community Fundraiser at The Myton Hospices, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Kate, the rest of the committee and everyone who attends and supports the Leam Terrace Street Party each and every year. We have recently launched our Urgent Appeal to raise £240,000, to ensure more people in Coventry and Warwickshire can access a Hospice Bed when they need to. The local community’s support is crucial in helping us reach as many people as possible living with life-limiting illnesses. Everyone involved in the street party is helping to make that happen.”

On behalf of everyone at The Myton Hospices, we would like to say a big thank you to Kate and everyone at Leam Terrace Street Party for your amazing support!
