We are incredibly grateful to The O’Brien Charitable Trust, the charitable arm of O’Brien’s Contractors, for generously funding a deep oscillation therapy machine for our Lymphoedema Department. Thanks to their support, we now have one available at both our Warwick and Coventry Hospices, helping more patients benefit from this specialised therapy.
In addition to the equipment, the remaining balance of their generous donation is being used to support nursing care costs at our Warwick Inpatient Unit.
This isn’t the first time The O’Brien Charitable Trust has supported Myton – they have previously donated £3,000 to refurbish a bedroom at Warwick Myton Hospice and have also funded new beds for our patients.
Joanne Parker, Trust & Foundations Fundraiser at The Myton Hospices, said:
We are extremely thankful to everyone at O’Brien Contractors and The O’Brien Charitable Trust for their incredible support. Having one of these machines available at each site means every lymphoedema patient who needs this treatment can now benefit from it.
We are a charity, we are not the NHS, and we need to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it costs this year to continue providing our services free of charge to our patients and their loved ones. Support from organisations like The O’Brien’s Charitable Trust is vital in helping us deliver the very best care for our patients. Thank you!
The Trust is funded through staff fundraising and support from their suppliers, with employees nominating local charities to benefit from their efforts each year.
