We’re delighted to share that Jenny Joseph, one of our incredible volunteers at The Myton Hospices, has been recognised at the South Warwickshire Volunteers Recognition Event, hosted by Warwickshire and Solihull Community and Voluntary Action (CAVA).
The event celebrated the extraordinary efforts of volunteers who give their time and energy to make a real difference in their communities – and Jenny does just that here at Myton.
Jenny volunteers on our Inpatient Unit at Warwick Myton Hospice, where she supports patients and staff with a range of daily activities, from making drinks and serving meals, to playing games, chatting, and simply being there to listen. Jenny also generously donates her time as a Complementary Therapy volunteer, offering reflexology to patients and families, drawing on her professional experience running her own reflexology business.
Jenny said:
I really love volunteering at Myton because it’s a place where kindness is everyone’s priority, and that’s a lovely thing in today’s world. The recognition means so much to me as I am very aware I am one of many volunteers who all give what they can to make Myton the place it is – to be singled out is special indeed.
Faith Costley, Volunteer Coordinator at The Myton Hospices, said:
Jenny is an enthusiastic and positive volunteer who makes such a difference to our patients, families and staff. She always has a smile and endless energy and doesn’t realise what a difference she makes.
Jenny joined over 30 other inspiring individuals and groups being celebrated at the event – and we couldn’t be prouder to see her hard work and kindness acknowledged in this way.
At The Myton Hospices, we are fortunate to be supported by hundreds of amazing volunteers, each playing a vital role in helping us provide our services free of charge to patients and their families.
Whether it’s supporting patients, working in our charity shops and coffee shop, helping out at fundraising events, welcoming visitors, or being part of a support group, there’s a volunteer role for everyone at Myton.
We are particularly looking for volunteers for our retail shops and eCommerce across Coventry and Warwickshire, people to help with bucket collections at events, drivers in the Rugby area and hairdressers for Coventry Myton Hospice.
