On Sunday 13th May, 655 walkers stepped out to raise money for The Myton Hospices!

Setting off from Warwick Myton Hospice, walkers took on a 3 mile stroll, a longer 6 mile walk or a 12 mile hike which took them through the Warwickshire countryside. And when they returned to the hospice they enjoyed an afternoon in the grounds with entertainment including a BBQ, birds of prey, ice cream, face painting, a bouncy castle, garden games, dog selfie station, in memory activities and live music.

The fundraising team is busy collecting and counting all of the sponsorship money and it is hoped the fundraising efforts of Myton’s amazing supporters will have met the £38,000 target. This is enough to fund the running cost of our Inpatient Unit at Warwick Myton Hospice for six days!

So far the total raised stands at around £21,000 with plenty more sponsorship still to come in! You can still donate to our Walk for Myton JustGiving page here to help us reach our target.

Myton would like thank everyone who took part and raised sponsorship or donated on the day, all of the wonderful volunteers who helped at this year’s event, Ted from the Engine Pub for managing the BBQ, singer Holly Hewitt for performing, Norm, Iris and their birds of prey, Viv Porteous for taking photographs on the day and  Social Services, Myton School and Warwick School for the use of their parking facilities.

Viv, has kindly released some teaser photos which can be seen below – see if you can spot yourself!

We will be releasing the full set in the upcoming days via our official Facebook page.
