We are delighted to introduce our new Rugby & Coventry Motor Neurone Disease Support Group in partnership with the MND Association

This brand new support group is an informal and friendly space for people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), family members and carers to connect, share experiences and receive valuable information, guidance and support from dedicated volunteers and staff members from the MND Association and The Myton Hospices.

Marianne Grant, Area Support Co-ordinator at MND Association, said:

We are extremely grateful to be partnering with The Myton Hospices to host new support groups for people affected by MND in Rugby and Coventry.

These friendly and informal gatherings will offer a fantastic opportunity for people to find out more about local services, the support available from the MND Association and meet others who are affected by MND – all in one room.

We’ve been determined to find ways to improve the support for the MND community in Rugby and Coventry, and we’re delighted these groups are now launching.

Tracey Evans, Patient & Carer Wellbeing Lead for The Myton Hospices, echoed:

We hope these sessions provide value and a safe and supportive space for patients and carers living with MND in our local community.

At The Myton Hospices, we aim to make sure that everyone who needs our services is able to access them and we want to help people with a life-limiting illness to live well for longer.

We want to emphasise the importance of hosting sessions like these to enhance local services and develop a sense of community among those impacted by MND.

These sessions will be held on the last Friday of every month from 1:30pm to 3pm, alternating between Rugby Myton Support Hub and Coventry Myton Hospice.

The upcoming dates for these sessions are as follows:

Rugby Myton Support Hub: Friday 22nd March, Friday 31st May and Friday 26th July.

Coventry Myton Hospice: Friday 26th April, Friday 28th June and Friday 30th August.

Booking is not required, if you would like to join the group virtually, please contact Marianne at Marianne.Grant@mndassociation.org or phone 01604 800 622.

If you think you would be able to provide information and guidance to patients and would like to volunteer at our Rugby & Coventry MND Support Group, please contact Marianne.

We look forward to welcoming you to these
supportive and informative sessions!
