Every volunteer who generously devotes their time to The Myton Hospices makes such a difference and we wanted to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them who generously gives their time to help Myton and the patients and families we care for.
To show our appreciation, we hosted thank you events at each of our three hospices, where we were joined by over 185 volunteers and their guests to celebrate one another.
On Tuesday 11th June, 35 volunteers joined us at our Rugby Myton Support Group. We enjoyed sandwiches, cake, scones and music. Our CEO, Ruth Freeman, expressed her gratitude for their dedicated and continued support.
We were joined by 75 volunteers and their guests along with 12 Myton staff on Friday 14th June. We came together at our Coventry Myton Hospice and, once again, our CEO Ruth and our Head of Volunteering, Kerrie Grayman-Smith, gave a speech thanking each and every one of them for their generosity.
Amy Rugg, our Volunteering Development Manager, read a beautiful poem titled "In Celebration of You," highlighting the impact of Myton’s volunteering community.
We were treated to live music from the amazing The King Bayan Ladies and Diarmuid Gaffney. A special thanks to the Rapid Relief Team for providing a delicious BBQ and to Myton’s caterers, Apetito, for generously donating cakes and muffins.
At our Warwick Myton Hospice, 74 volunteers and their guests enjoyed live music by Abi Rowbury and The Duke, along with another fantastic BBQ from the Rapid Relief Team and Apetito’s cakes and muffins.
Amy’s poem was a hit, and Ruth’s speech made everyone feel valued. We were honoured to welcome The Chair and Vice Chair of the 250+ Club, Stephen Dolman and Susan Hurst, the legendary volunteer Margaret Kite, and members of the Harbury Support Group which closed down earlier this year.
Kerrie, Head of Volunteering, said:
Thank you to each and every volunteer for joining us at these events and for your unwavering dedication.
Volunteers support all aspects of The Myton Hospices and we truly couldn’t function without your support – so a huge thank you from Myton to all of our incredible volunteers, you are all fabulous!
Your time and contributions make a world of difference to Myton, our patients, and their families. Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without you!
