Winter Wonderland at our Coventry Myton Hospice

Earlier this month, Coventry Myton Hospice was transformed into a festive winter wonderland, welcoming patients, families and staff for a joyful afternoon of Christmas cheer.

From the moment people arrived, the hospice was filled with warmth, laughter and the magic that this time of year can bring, even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Patients and families were able to enjoy a Santa’s grotto, try their luck at a tombola, choose pick & mix stalls, and toys, whilst everyone enjoyed hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies.

We were also joined by two miniature donkeys - a big thank you to Darren Braithwaite for bringing them along.

The afternoon was full of music from The Salvation Army and a performance by singer Ellie Moloney.

A silent auction, featuring two hampers and a children’s kitchenette, added to the excitement of the day. Congratulations to the lucky winners!

Kerry Merry, Senior Staff Nurse at Coventry Myton Hospice, said:

It was such a fun and uplifting day. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces, from the children meeting Santa to families enjoying music and treats together, reminded us why moments like this matter so much, especially at this time of year.

We really hope all our patients and their families had a wonderful time!

The Myton Hospices - A Patient and Father Christmas at Coventry Myton Hospice

At Myton, we know how important it is to create opportunities for patients and their families to make precious memories together, particularly at Christmas.

Days like this are about more than festive fun, but about connection, comfort and sharing special moments with loved ones that will be cherished for a long time.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day so special and for bringing a little extra magic to our Coventry Myton Hospice this Christmas.
