- After the cancellation of the live London Marathon in 2020 for charity runners, the 2021 event is set to be the biggest and best yet!
With 50,000 people taking to the streets of London it will be a year like no other!
The Myton Hospices application for our London Marathon place is now closed.
If you were successful through the general ballot for a place in the London Marathon, please head to our ‘I have a place’ tab and fill in the form. Our Challenge and Events Coordinator will be in touch to support you with your fundraising.
The organisers have announced that following on from the success in 2020, 50,000 places will be up for grabs in the Virtual London Marathon - and we have places!
This gives you the flexibility of still being part of the biggest UK marathon but being able to run anywhere you like and at any time between 00:00 and 23:59 on Sunday 3rd October 2021!
If you entered the general ballot for a London Marathon place and were unsuccessful, you will be given an exclusive window from Tuesday 9th February to Tuesday 16th February to enter the virtual event.
The London Marathon team will be in touch with you directly about this. If you choose to take part in the Virtual London Marathon through this route and you’d like to run in aid of Myton Hospices, please head to our ‘I have a place tab’ and fill in the form to let us know!
If you have not previously entered the ballot but you are interested in running the Virtual London Marathon in aid of The Myton Hospices, we have been successful in receiving a very limited number places through the charity ballot.
We will be offering these charity places to runners free of charge when you pledge to raise a minimum of £500 for The Myton Hospices.

Please note that you are able to apply for both our London Marathon ballot place and a London Marathon Virtual Event charity place. If you are the successful applicant for the London Marathon ballot place, you’re virtual race place will be given to the first person on our waiting list.
