Walk for Myton...
Get out in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside with family and friends on Sunday 12th May. Walk for Myton is the perfect way to enjoy a walk with loved ones whilst raising money for Myton – you're welcome to bring your dog too!
This event is a sponsored walk which starts and ends at Warwick Myton Hospice. You can choose between three different routes, a casual 3 mile stroll, a more challenging 6 mile walk or a 12 mile hike for those looking to push themselves, setting off anytime between 8.30am and 10am.
After you have completed your chosen route, you are invited to relax in the beautiful hospice grounds where we will be offering a range of entertainment on site for all the family!
You can enjoy some tasty food from our BBQ, treat yourself to a well-deserved drink or two, while the kids have an ice cream and wear themselves out on the bouncy castle. You can even bring your own picnic and games! Also, our in memory zone will give you the chance to reflect and remember loved ones.

You can rarely scroll through your Facebook newsfeed without seeing at least one fundraising page and that is because it is one of the most effective, easiest ways of encouraging families, friends and colleagues to sponsor you.
By setting up a JustGiving page, you can share your fundraising page on Facebook and Twitter as little or as often as you want to. Having an online fundraising page also means you do not have to physically collect money after the event, plus Gift Aid is automatically calculated and processed.
If you haven't already why not set up your online fundraising page through JustGiving with just a few simple clicks.
If you need help setting up your JustGiving page please click here
Please let us know, by emailing the Events Team, if you set up a Fundraiser on Facebook; we receive limited information from Facebook which makes it extremely hard for us to link the donation to your fundraising otherwise.
If you have any question please get in touch by sending an email to Events@mytonhospice.org or calling 01926 358 382
Your sponsorship will enable Myton to help more people like Tony Galvin and his family:
Tony Galvin has taken part in Walk for Myton since 2015 following the death of his father-in-law at Coventry Myton Hospice. But his connection to Myton goes back to 2000 when his sister Marion died at Warwick Myton Hospice.
In 2018 Tony turned 60 and to mark his special birthday he decided the 12 mile Walk for Myton route just wasn't enough! Starting at 5am on the day of the event, Tony decided to go double the distance and walked the 12 mile route twice!
My sister Marion was cared for at Warwick Myton Hospice, and my wife's father died at Coventry Myton in 2015 – that was the first year I did Walk for Myton. Everyone says how pleasant Myton is and how well looked after you are there. The year I turned 60 I wanted to mark it with something big! By the time I was returning to Myton after my first 12 mile walk people had already set off on their routes and were telling me I was going the wrong way! I stopped a few times to tell people what I was doing. I grew up in Leamington and enjoy the walk because it takes me through my past – I revisit places I went when I was a child.
To reach our target of £38,000 we rely entirely on you raising sponsorship. Have a look at the difference the money you raise will make:
- £50 covers the cost of two hours of specialist nursing care.
- £175 is the upkeep cost of our relatives' accommodation for a week.
- £460 will fund an inpatient bed for one day.
- £2,000 would buy a patient specific recliner chair to enable patients to spend time out of bed.
This year we have to raise £9.6million of the £12.3 million we need, we can't do it without support from people like you.

Many people take part in Walk for Myton in memory of someone special who is no longer alive. It's a chance for them to take on a challenge together at the same time as raising money for Myton to enable us to continue to grow our work.
Make sure there is a part of your loved one with you as you walk by ordering one of our lovely In Memory t-shirts when you sign up to the event. You personalise it with a photo and message on the back!
Child t-shirt – £10
Adult t-shirt – £12
We'll also have an in memory zone on the day where children can take part in some arts and crafts and a member of our pastoral care team will be on hand to chat to if you wish to.
