Help us make a difference to people with life-limiting illnesses…

At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, with three hospices, a range of community services, and 25 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire. This year we have to raise £12.7 million of the £15.3 million it costs to provide our services free of charge.

About the role

Our Events Fundraisers and Coordinators play a pivotal role in organising and delivering a diverse, exciting and successful portfolio of fundraising events.

Your aims will be to develop new event concepts and grow participant numbers and income from our existing events. This will support us to achieve our ambitious fundraising targets so that we can continue to fund our services.

A typical day as an Events Fundraiser might include:

  • Researching new event concepts
  • Liaising with external suppliers
  • Making arrangements for an upcoming mass-participation event
  • Working with the Marketing & Communications team to plan a promotional campaign
  • Supporting and engaging with supporters undertaking their own fundraising challenges

This full-time position is based at our Warwick Hospice, and your working hours will typically be Monday to Friday 9-5, with some early, evening or weekend working at events, some of which will be off-site.

About you

To be one of our Events Fundraisers, you’ll need a proven track record of:

  • Organising mass participation events and/or challenge events
  • Recruiting participants
  • Generating sponsorship
  • Negotiating with third party events suppliers
  • Achieving financial targets (both income and expenditure budgets)
  • Promoting events

You’ll need skills in:

  • Communication
  • Organisation
  • Teamwork
  • Creativity
  • Flexibility

Above all, we’re looking for a professional, experienced fundraiser.

Because you will need to travel to events, venues, and meet suppliers, you will also need a UK driving licence and a vehicle for work.

We will require a standard DBS check because you will be working in an adult healthcare setting. We will arrange this check and cover the cost.
