Almost 700 people take part in Walk for Myton

On Sunday 14th May, 688 walkers pulled on their walking boots and set out to complete their chosen routes around the Warwickshire countryside to raise money for The Myton Hospices.

Setting off from Warwick Myton Hospice, walkers could choose between a casual 3 mile stroll, a longer 6 mile walk or a 12 mile hike. All participants received a Myton bracelet for completing their chosen route.

And when they returned to Warwick Myton Hospice, walkers enjoyed an afternoon in the grounds with entertainment including a bouncy castle, a chocolate tombola, face painting, flamingo croquet, the Myton photo station, live music and plenty of refreshments.

The fundraising team is busy collecting and counting all of the sponsorship money and it is hoped the fundraising efforts of Myton’s amazing supporters will have met the £40,000 target. This is enough to fund Warwick Day Hospice for 12 weeks and will make a huge difference to both patients and their loved ones.

Myton would like thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped at this year’s event and all those who provided entertainment and refreshments for the walkers to enjoy throughout the day, including Jazzbo, Norman and Ivy and their birds of prey, Annie’s Ice Cream and the fabulous face-painter Julia Gandy.
